NetID Guest/Shared Account

This service provides support for creating and managing guest or shared NetID accounts. Shared NetID accounts allow multiple users to access a common resource, while guest NetID accounts are typically used for temporary access by non-university members, such as vendors.

Users can request the creation of a shared or guest NetID account for authorized individuals, or report issues with an existing account, such as login problems or access restrictions.

Both guest and shared NetID accounts must be renewed annually for uninterrupted service.

Who is Eligible?

Active staff and faculty are eligible to request a shared NetID account.

Guest NetID accounts require a sponsor to create the account on behalf of the account recipient. The sponsor must be an active staff or faculty member.

Prerequisites and Expectations

Requests will be reviewed by the IT Business Operations office for eligibility and, upon approval, will process the account creation.

For problems with guest and shared NetID accounts, the OU Help Desk will schedule an appointment remotely or in-person to help troubleshoot any issues.
