Guest NetID Accounts are sponsored by a department for individuals with a relationship to the university. Sponsorship must be renewed annually by the department. The guest account owner will be notified 45 days in advance of the guest NetID/email being deleted.
Shared NetID accounts are associated with an owner. Shared accounts must be renewed annually by the owner. The shared account and the owner's account will be notified via email 45 days before the shared account will be deleted, if not renewed.

How to Request a Creation/Modification/Renewal/Deletion of a Shared/Guest NetID Account
- To request a new Guest or Shared account or to renew, complete the electronic form at:

Guest Accounts
- Select the "NetID — Guest Account Request Form" creations, renewals, and deletions of guest NetID accounts.
- Select if this guest will be on campus for less than one year
- Check mark if this Guest Account will require email
- If so, then use the box provided to explain why
- Enter the name that you would like for this account ex. example@oakland.edu
- Note: The name you put in this section will also be the NetID for the Guest Account
- Fill out the Guest Contact Information
- Fill out the Sponsor Information for who is sponsoring the Guest Account
- Note: The sponsor of the Guest Account should be the one completing and submitting the form.
- In the box provided, explain what the account will be used for and any other additional details.
- Note: If certain access is required such as Student VPN access, then the form for that access needs to be completed separately from the request form.
- Once completed, on the next page select the submit button.
Shared Accounts
- Select the "NetID — Shared Account Request Form" for creations, renewals, and deletions of shared NetID accounts.
- Fill out the required information for the account such as:
- Shared Email Address - What you would like the account email to look like ex. example@oakland.edu
- FirstName & LastName - What name you would like for the account ex. FirstName: Example LastName: Team
- Together these fields would look like: Example Team <example@oakland.edu>
- Fill out the required information for the Owner on Record such as:
- Email - This email should be the email of the faculty or staff member who is part of the club.
- Doing this should auto populate at least the Unit Name, Name, & Owner's Affiliation(s) with OU sections.
- (If applicable) Fill out the required information for the Sponsor Information such as:
- Email - If there is a sponsor for your group then input their information her, otherwise use the same information as the Owner on Record.
- Doing this should auto populate at least the Unit Name, Name, & Owner's Affiliation(s) with OU sections.
- Fill out the box to describe the purpose of this account and any other additional details.
- Once completed, on the next page select the submit button.
