OU Gmail Issues

Use this service to report issues related to Oakland University Gmail accounts, including problems with sending or receiving messages, login/access errors, missing emails, or other unexpected behavior within the Gmail interface. Please provide an alternate email account to communicate if you cannot log into your OU Gmail account.

Who is Eligible?

Oakland University students, faculty, and staff.

Prerequisites and Expectations

  • Gmail is the official email platform for all OU accounts and is managed through Google Workspace.

  • Common issues that can be reported include:

    • Inability to send or receive email

    • Delayed message delivery

    • Login or access errors with your OU Gmail account

    • Gmail interface not loading or functioning properly

    • Suspected spam, phishing, or compromised accounts

  • Before submitting a request, users are encouraged to check the Google Workspace Status Dashboard for any known outages.

  • The OU Help Desk will investigate reported issues and provide support or escalation as needed. In cases of suspected security incidents, account access may be temporarily restricted while the issue is resolved.
