If the user has not connected to Grizznet-Secure before it will give the user information on how to register their device on ClearPass to connect to the Grizznet-Secure wireless network.

What is Grizznet-Secure?
- GrizzNet-Secure is an encrypted wireless network available in key public locations on campus.
Who can use Grizznet-Secure?
- All currently enrolled students, active staff, and faculty members are allowed to use GrizzNet-Secure. Please visit wifi.oakland.edu to download the certificate before arriving on campus.

How to Connect to Grizznet-Secure on Windows 11
- On the bottom right corner of the screen, click on the Wi-Fi icon to open the wireless settings menu.
- In the wireless settings menu click “Grizznet-Secure” then click “Connect.”
- Login using your full OU email (netid@oakland.edu) and NetID password and click “Connect.”
How to Connect to Grizznet-Secure on a Mac
- In the upper right corner, click the Wi-Fi icon.
- Within the Wi-Fi settings choose “Grizznet-Secure”.
- Login using your full OU email (netid@oakland.edu) and NetID password and click Connect.
How to Register Your device to Grizznet
- After connecting to Grizznet-Secure, open a web browser and navigate to https://clearpass.oakland.edu/guest/auth_login.php?target=%2Fguest%2Fguest_ index.php.
- Log in using your NetID (without @oakland.edu) and NetID password. Click “Create Device” on the left-hand side.
- Enter a device name & enter the MAC address of the device.
- Once entered click Create Device.

- Click on the Windows key at the bottom of the screen.
- Type in CMD in the search bar and open the application called “Command Prompt.”
- Type getmac into the Command Prompt window and press “Enter.”
- There will be a section called “Physical Address,” your MAC address is the 12-digit alphanumeric that does not show “Media Disconnected” next to it.
How to Get the MAC Address of an Apple Machine
- Click on the apple on the top left corner
- Click on “System Settings.”
- Click on the “Wi-Fi” section.
- Within the “Wi-Fi” section, click on “Advanced…” which will be near the bottom right.
- The MAC address will be a 12-digit alphanumeric listed next to “Wi-Fi MAC address.”
