NetID Password Reset

Password reset for NetID accounts. Three options listed below.

Who is Eligible?

Faculty, Staff or Students

Reset NetID Password with Current Password

  • Navigate to https://netid.oakland.edu
  • Click NetID Password Manager
  • Click NetID field and enter your NetID without "@oakland.edu"
  • Click Current Password and enter your known current password
  • Click New Password field and enter a NEW password
    • Password must contain 8-15 alphanumeric characters.
    • It must have at lest one uppercase letter, one lowercase and one number
    • Your new password may not contain first or last name for proper password change
    • It cannot be the same as your previous two (2) passwords
  • Click Verify New Password field and enter the password again
  • Click Change Password button to complete the password reset

Reset NetID Password with Grizzly ID and PIN

  • Navigate to https://netid.oakland.edu
  • Click Reset NetID Password with Grizzly ID and PIN
  • Click Grizzly ID Number and enter your Grizzly ID (G00xxxxxx) with a capital "G"
  • Click Grizzly ID PIN and enter your 6-digit Grizzly ID PIN
  • Click New Password field and enter a NEW password
    • Password must contain 8-15 alphanumeric characters.
    • It must have at lest one uppercase letter, one lowercase and one number
    • Your new password may not contain first or last name for proper password change
    • It cannot be the same as your previous two (2) passwords
  • Click Verify New Password field and enter the password again
  • Click Change Password button to complete the password reset

Obtain Your Grizzly ID

  • Your Grizzly ID can be found on MySAIL or your official admission letter 
  • Complete a grizzly ID release form 
  • Contact the OU Technology Center at (248) 370-4357 or Registrar's Office at (248) 370-3450 to release over the telephone

Create Your Grizzly PIN

  • Navigate to https://netid.oakland.edu
  • Click Reset Grizzly ID PIN 
  • Click Grizzly ID field and enter your Grizzly ID (G00xxxxxx) with a capital "G"
  • Enter your Date of Birth in the MM/DD/YEAR format
  • Click First Name field and enter your legal first name
  • Click Last Name field and enter your legal last name
  • Check the "I'm not a robot" box on the CAPTCHA and press Submit
  • Click the Select or Answer Question field and press Submit
  • To se up the security question, click the drop down box and select a question
  • Click the Hint Answer field and enter the answer and click Submit (NOTE: The answer is case sensitive)
  • Click New PIN field and enter a 6-digit PIN
  • Click Verify New PIN and enter the previous 6-digit PIN
  • Click Submit and your pin has been created
