NetID Password Reset

Below is a step by step guide for each of the three options related to resetting a password for NetID accounts.

Procedures

Reset NetID Password with Current Password

  1. Navigate to https://netid.oakland.edu
  2. Click "NetID Password Manager"

  1. Click the "NetID" field and enter your NetID without "@oakland.edu"

  1. Click the "Current Password" field and enter your known current password

  1. Click the "New Password" field and enter a NEW password
    • Password must contain 8-15 alphanumeric characters.
    • It must have at lest one uppercase letter, one lowercase and one number
    • Your new password may not contain first or last name for proper password change
    • It cannot be the same as your previous two (2) passwords

  1. Click the "Verify New Password" field and enter the password again

  1. Click the "Change Password" button to complete the password reset

Reset NetID Password with Grizzly ID and PIN

  1. Navigate to https://netid.oakland.edu
  2. Click "Reset NetID Password with Grizzly ID and PIN"

  1. Click the "Grizzly ID Number" field and enter your Grizzly ID (G00xxxxxx) with a capital "G"

  1. Click the "Grizzly ID PIN" field and enter your 6-digit Grizzly ID PIN

  1. Click the "New Password" field and enter a NEW password
    • Password must contain 8-15 alphanumeric characters.
    • It must have at lest one uppercase letter, one lowercase and one number
    • Your new password may not contain first or last name for proper password change

  1. Click the "Verify New Password" field and enter the password again
