This service allows users to request the installation and configuration of a new local or network printer.
For local printers, the Help Desk will assist with the physical setup and ensure proper connection to the user’s computer. For network printers, the Help Desk will manage the physical setup and forward the request to the Network Team to configure the printer on the network, including assigning an IP address.
Who is eligible?
Users who own an OU office printer.
Prerequisites and Expectations
The OU Help Desk will review the request and schedule an appointment for on-site assistance if necessary.
For network printers, the request is forwarded to the Network Team, who will configure the printer on the network and assign an IP address. Once the network configuration is complete, the Help Desk will perform the physical setup of the printer and map it to the user’s computer for proper access. The Help Desk then verifies that the printer is working correctly and accessible, completing the setup process.
