Compromised Device

This service allows Oakland University faculty, staff, and students to report devices that may have been infected with malware, accessed by unauthorized users, or otherwise compromised. Timely reporting is essential for mitigating risks, protecting sensitive university data, and preventing further security incidents.

Users should provide details about the suspected compromise, including the device type, manufacturer, operating system, recent unusual activity, and any suspicious emails, links, or software downloads that may have led to the issue.

Who is Eligible?

Anyone with an Oakland University device.

Prerequisites and Expectations

The report is reviewed by the OU Help Desk, who will assess the risk, provide guidance on securing the device, and escalate the issue to the appropriate teams if further investigation is required.
