Microsoft 365 - Installing Apps

This page will guide you on how to install Microsoft 365 applications.

Overview

Step 1: Visit https://www.office.com/

To install the current versions of Microsoft apps, visit office.com and in the top right side of the page select "Sign In" which looks like: "White background featuring 'Sign in' text and an icon of a user inside a circle, indicating a login or user account access option." 

Note: If you receive an error message stating "Your password cannot be reset at this website" Then you need to reset your NetID password which can be done at netid.oakland.edu

Your page should refresh and look like below:

Step 2: Installing the Office Setup

On the right hand side of your page, select the drop down menu "Install and more" and choose the first option "Microsoft 365 Apps"

Your page will refresh to look like below:

Select the orange button labeled "Install Office" which will download a file labeled "OfficeSetup.exe" A dark-themed notification showing recent download history. It lists 'OfficeSetup.exe' with a file size of 7.3 MB, downloaded 26 minutes ago.

Open the file and a pop will window appear like the one below:

Allow this process to fully run while it installs all of the Microsoft 365 Apps. Once finished another pop window will appear like this:

Step 3: Test Your Applications

The final step is to open any or all of the applications that you want to use and make sure that they work properly. 

Note: Once opening an application it may request that you sign in to your account, please log in using your Oakland email and password.
