This service allows faculty, staff, and student employees to request a manual security scan of a university-owned computer using tools like Symantec Endpoint Protection, Windows Defender, or Malwarebytes. It is intended for cases where the user suspects malware, unusual performance, or other suspicious activity not addressed by routine automated scans.

Faculty, staff, and student employees using university-owned computers.
Prerequisites and Expectations
Users may submit a request for remote assistance or visit the OU Technology Center in person. A technician will begin with a quick scan using approved tools, followed by a full scan if needed. We will also check for other suspicious software or system settings that can be manually removed or reverted. If these steps do not resolve the issue and we suspect the device may be compromised, the request will be escalated to the UTS Security team for further investigation or quarantine.
