Use this service to request assistance registering or deactivating a hardware security key on your NetID account. A security key serves as an alternative authentication method if you are unable to use the Microsoft Authenticator app.
Who is Eligible?
This service is available to any users with a security key in their possession.

Submit a request through this page with your security key in hand.
Activate Security Key
- If you DO NOT have Microsoft Authenticator set up: The OU Technology Center will generate a Temporary Access Password (TAP) for you. You will use this TAP to sign in and add the security key to your account yourself. Sent from 1Password.
- If you ALREADY have Microsoft Authenticator set up: A TAP is not required. You can sign in using your existing Authenticator app to register the key directly on your account's Security Info page.
Deactivate Security Key
The OU Technology Center will remove the security key from your NetID account.

- Remote Assistance: This process can be completed online with no office visit required.
- In-Person Assistance: If you prefer in-person support, bring your security key directly to the OU Technology Center for help.
