Event organizers can arrange for dedicated wireless network coverage and temporary guest access for conferences, athletics events, ceremonies, and large public gatherings on campus.
Who is Eligible?
Event organizers with a valid NetID.
Prerequisites and Expectations
- Advance Notice: Requests are required to be submitted at least 5-10 business days prior to the event date to allow adequate time for network assessment, coverage verification, and configuration.
- Event Details: Requestors must provide the specific event venue/location (indoor/outdoor), expected attendance count, start and end dates/times, and required bandwidth or guest access requirements.
The University Technology Services (UTS) network team will review the request and evaluate the venue's existing Wi-Fi capacity to determine the network configurations needed. Once approved, event-specific credentials or temporary guest access networks will be staged and provided to the event contact prior to the start time. For major high-density events, network engineers will proactively monitor access point health and bandwidth utilization during the event window.
