DHCP

The Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) is used by Oakland University to allocate IP addresses to devices connected to our network. Most user devices will get a randomly selected IP address from the appropriate pool. Some users may require a reserved (fixed, static) IP address from DHCP for select reasons.

Who is Eligible?

All active faculty, staff, or students.

Prerequisites and Expectations

After a request is submitted or an incident is reported, the Network Communication Services (NCS) team will review the ticket and reach out for more information or to provide troubleshooting.
