This article explains how to resolve issues registering for OU emergency alerts by verifying personal information, using correct formatting, and troubleshooting browser settings.

Who is Eligible?

Active Faculty, Staff and Students

Information:

If you cannot register for emergency alerts on the Oakland University Emergency Notification website: https://iam.oakland.edu/EmergencyNotification/ please check the following:

  1. Enter your name exactly as it appears in university records.  
    • Verify your last name, first name, GrizzlyID number, and NetID (email) username from the SAIL website before you enter the information on the Emergency Notification website.
  2. Enter your entire email address, including the "@oakland.edu." 
  3. Do not copy and paste the GrizzlyID from another page.
  4. Close and reopen your Internet browser, or try a different browser. 
    • The following browsers are recommended: (Windows) IE 9.0, IE 10.0, or IE 11.0; (Windows); (Mac) Safari - version 5.1 or higher; (all platforms) Firefox - any version.
  5. Clear the Cache and Cookies in your internet browser history.

If this does not resolve your issue, submit a service request with the following information:

  1. Internet browsers you have tried.
  2. Provide the URL of where you are entering information. 
  3. Provide the error message on the screen that indicates the entry is unsuccessful.
