Banner Browser Configuration

The front end software of Banner Document Management is called ApplicationXtender Web Access (also known as AppXtender or WebXtender). AppXtender works best in Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser. This page will address configuring the browser for optimal functionality.

Browser Configuration

Here are some browser settings that you may wish to consider.

• Turn off Pop-up Blocker or allow pop-ups from oakland.edu. Pop-up Blocker may prevent AppXtender from launching in your browser. This can be found in the tools menu as seen in Figure 1.

• Active X filtering. Be sure Active X filtering is disabled. You can find this from the tools menu seen in Figure 2.

• Add the Banner Document Management sites https://bandoctest.oakland.edu and https://bandoc.oakland.edu to the Trusted Sites in Internet Options.
  • Click the Settings icon in the upper right corner of the browser and select Internet Options.
  • Click the Security tab.
  • Click Trusted Sites.
  • Click Sites.
  • You should see https://bandoctest.oakland.edu in the "Add websites to the zone:" text field.
  • Click Add.
  • Repeat the previous two steps for https://bandoc.oakland.edu.
  • Click Close when complete.
  • Click OK to Internet Options.
