Students at Oakland University can grant guest users (such as parents or guardians) proxy access to certain parts of their student account.
Who is Eligible?
Overview
Proxy access allows a student to give a guest user limited access to specific systems associated with the student's account. This is most commonly used to allow parents or guardians to view billing information or academic details. SAIL and eBill proxy access are managed separately. Granting access to one system does not automatically grant access to the other. Students may add, manage, or remove proxy access to their account at any time.
There are two types of account proxy access:
- SAIL proxy access - allows guest users view the student's course schedule, grades, awards, holds, and more.
- eBill proxy access - allows guest users view the student's tuition billing and payment information and make payments on the account.

- Proxy users should keep their login credentials confidential.
- Students are responsible for managing and removing proxy access when it is no longer needed.
- For privacy and security reasons, Oakland University staff cannot add or modify proxy access on a student's behalf.
Troubleshooting
- If the proxy user did not receive an email, check the Spam or Junk folders and verify the email address is correctly entered by the student.
