Google Meet is a video conferencing tool that enables faculty, staff, and students to communicate and collaborate through live video, audio, and screen sharing. With Google Meet, you can participate in meetings and conference calls from anywhere, whether you're working from home or abroad, using any computer or mobile device.

Requirements

To ensure an optimal experience, you'll need a computing device, a stable Internet connection, and a microphone. While Google Meet supports web cam use, it is not mandatory. Every individual with a Oakland University Google Account has access to Google Meet.

Features

Google Meet can be used to engage in group video chats during online classes or share your screen. Here are some of the core features and functionalities of Google Meet:

  • HD Video and Audio
  • Built-In Presentation Tools
  • Up to 100 participants per video call
  • Scheduling via Google Calendar

Depending on your Google Workspace plan, you may have access to additional features, including:

  • Up to 500 participants per meeting
  • Meeting recording capabilities
  • In-domain live streaming
