Active Faculty or Staff, with access to Banner 8.
ODBC Driver Install and Troubleshooting Steps
A connection to Banner 8 through ODBC is only available through on-campus ethernet on a Windows device, or through Remote ODBC for remote or Mac OS users.
To install ODBC drivers on your on-campus, ethernet connected device:
- Navigate to the following SMB Network share folder in File Explorer:
\\admnet.oakland.edu\Shares\OU_Help_Desk\FREE\OUHD Scripts
- Find the file
ODBC-Install-Uninstall.exe
- Double-click the file to open it. This file requires your user to have local administrator rights on your device to run.
- Select the option that best suits your needs in the window that opened.
- Option
1
is recommend, which will uninstall and reinstall the ODBC drivers.
- The window will automatically close when the option you chose completes.
