An explanation on how to make changes to your personal records and department directories.

Thank you for asking for information about the university directory found here:https://sail.oakland.edu/PROD/bwpkedir.P_DisplayDirectory

We can provide instructions for how to do change information, but records are maintained by the offices with record maintenance responsibility for personal privacy and audit control reasons. You may need to contact the appropriate records department to effect a change. The sections below contain information for both individual and department directories.

Who is Eligible?

Active Faculty or Staff

Directory Profile

All contact information displayed is pulled from Banner.
If Faculty/Staff do not appear, first contact Human Resources to verify employee has primary active position, and second verify the Directory Profile indicator.
Employees with active records appear in the directory after setting the Directory Profile indicator. To set the indicator:

  • Log into https://sail.oakland.edu
  • Click on Personal Information,
  • Click on Directory Profile and check the Name box.
  • Please allow 24 hours for update.

Individual Records

Please login to SAIL at https://sail.oakland.edu
Click on PERSONAL INFORMATION on the top menu bar.
Click on the box VIEW / UPDATE ADDRESS(ES) AND PHONE(S).
Scroll down and note you should see a Campus Address for yourself like this:

Find CAMPUS OFFICE in the list and click on the label CAMPUS OFFICE.
Edit the entry to read:
Address line 1: Your-University-Department
Address line 2: Building Room
Address line 3: Building number and university street
Rochester, MI 48309-xxxx

To update your office phone, click on PRIMARY under PHONES and follow similar steps to update, then submit at the bottom. If there is no existing Campus Address, you can insert by scrolling to the bottom of the address page, and click on the drop down for TYPE OF ADDRESS TO INSERT, select Campus Office, then click on submit.
In the next page, follow the same rules above to enter an address and phone, then submit.Thank you for displaying the correct address and contact information in the directory.  Other addresses may be listed in the directory, but may require that you contact the office responsible for the address for correction.

Department Directory

Please contact the Accounting Department for procedures to change your department name (fund name) or to realign employees in a department (fund). The Department and employees within the department are based on the fund and organization structure in Accounting. All requests for changes, such as a new department (fund) name and reassignment of employees should be presented to Accounting. A Change of Status form submission may be required. Refer to the web site for Accounting:  https://www.oakland.edu/accounting/ChartofAccounts/
noting the section marked "Changes."
To review the data, check with an employee with access to the Banner form NBAJOBS. The Directory process displays the organization from the NBRJOBS_ORGN_CODE_TS field, which is dependent on the POSN, SUFF, EFFECTIVE_DATE and STATUS.
