Body
This article explains the difference between Waterfall and Card Wall planning in TDX. It is intended to help departments choose the planning approach that best fits their project structure and timeline.
Overview
Waterfall Planning
Waterfall is a structured, sequential approach where tasks must be completed in a specific order.
How It Works
Step B cannot begin until Step A is complete.
Best For
- Infrastructure projects
- Hardware deployments
- Projects with fixed deadlines
Example
A Laser Projector Initiative cannot begin installation until bidding is complete, the purchase order is approved, and equipment has been received.

The Card Wall is a visual board that supports flexible task movement across stages such as To Do, In Progress, and Done.
How It Works
Tasks move between columns as work progresses. Tasks may occur simultaneously depending on availability.
Best For

- Training initiatives
- Process improvements
