Argos Development Guide

Who is Eligible?

Active Faculty or Staff

Development Area

DataBlock Designers

  • Each DataBlock Designer has an individual folder for their use (located within the Z_OU_Development folder).
  • The DataBlock Designer can create sub-folders within their personal folder.
  • Each DataBlock Designer should have access to their Group ADO Connections in their development folder.
  • Perform all development and Unit Testing from this Development area

Group / Folder Area

  • Once Development and Unit Testing is complete, copy or move the DataBlock to the Group / Folder area.
  • *** This area is NOT to be used for Development. ***
  • *** This area is NOT to be used for Development. ***
  • *** This area is NOT to be used for Development. ***
  • *** This area is NOT to be used for Development. ***
  • New sub-folders intended to be moved to PROD can be created in this area. Be sure to include them in the Export when applicable.
  • Be sure to use the correct ADO Connection.

NOTE: If you test using your associated Production Connector (ARGOS_xxxxx_PRODREPT), it MUST be switch to the regular Connector (ARGOS_xxxxx) prior to the Export!

  • All User Acceptance Testing (UAT) should be done from the Group / Folder area.
  • Exports for Promotion to Production should be done from the Group / Folder area.
  • The Argos Administrator will occasionally clean-up the Group / Folder area.

Note: As we learn more about the Evisions Argos product, these standards and best practices will grow and be revised to suit our environment more closely.
