This article is a guide to registering and managing your devices in ClearPass.
Who is Eligible?
Active Faculty or Staff
Self-Registering a Wired Device using the Captive Portal
- Connect your device to an active LAN jack.
- If the device is already registered, you should have network access and do not need to do anything
- If the device is unregistered in ClearPass, then a browser based captive portal should pop-up on the screen as shown below.
- In the event the captive portal does not pop, open a browser and navigate to the url https://www.oakland.edu. This will redirect you to the registration page
- Enter your NetID credentials and click log in.
- All the required fields should be pre-populated.
- Optionally, you can create a unique name for the device under “Device Name”
- Click on the Create Device button, and device registration is complete.
Managing Your Devices:
- In a Browser navigate to https://clearpass.oakland.edu
- Enter your NetID Credentials and click Log In
- To add a new device:
- Click Create Device
- Enter the MAC Address, an optional Device Name, and click Create Device
- To manage your existing devices:
- Click Manage Devices
- To remove a registered device, click its name and then Remove
